Yaddasht privacy policy

This policy covers the Windows app Yaddasht made by Hosein Hayati.

In short

Your notes are stored on your own computer and, if you choose "Sign in with Google", in your own Google Drive. No notes, reminders or Google account information are sent to the developer's servers.

What is stored where

  • Notes and reminders: .md files and a reminders file in a folder you choose in Settings.
  • App settings: in %APPDATA%\Yaddasht on the same computer.
  • Google sign-in data: your account's email address and an access token, encrypted with Windows' own data protection (DPAPI) on the same computer, readable only by your Windows user account.

Google user data the app uses

If you choose "Sign in with Google", the app asks for:

Scope Purpose
drive.file Create a Yaddasht folder in your Google Drive and read and write only the files the app itself created. The app cannot access your other Drive files.
email, openid Show which account you are signed in with.

This data is used only to sync your own notes between your computers. It is not stored elsewhere, sold or shared with anyone, and is not used for advertising or to train AI models. The app talks to Google directly over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

Yaddasht's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Revoking access and deleting data

  • Choose "Sign out" in the app's Settings: the stored token is deleted and the app's access is revoked.
  • You can also remove access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  • The Yaddasht folder in Google Drive belongs to you; delete it whenever you like.
  • Removing the app and your notes folder deletes everything stored on the computer.

Other connections

  • Update check: the app reads the public file hoseinhayati.ir/apps/version.json and sends nothing about you.
  • License: license keys are checked on the computer and not sent anywhere.
  • The app has no ads, no analytics and no automatic crash reporting.
